Dale Longfellow of Hobson Insurance has been in the insurance industry for over 40 years. Dale has developed Hobson Insurance into a solid, full line agency offering insurance for every need. The agency has been a "Best Practices" award winner for many years. In what seems an unlikely setting, the agency services commercial accounts in over 45 states. He doubled the size of the building in 1998, and then again in 2007. Now that he has made the decision to retire at the end of 2008, his two daughters, Kristy Longfellow Hodik and Misty Longfellow Kriskovich, will buy the agency and continue his legacy.
Dale has been an active member in the Montana Independent Insurance Agents Association and has served many positions including President in 2006. Perhaps one of the most refreshing aspects of this rural entrepreneur, however, is Dale's commitment to his employees and their families. Dale's three granddaughters spent their infancy accompanying their mom to the office and sitting on Grandpa's knee while he talked on the telephone. As his daughters work to perpetuate the agency, Dale now hopes to see the next generation with an insurance career in Hobson, Montana as well.
Dale's past achievements include an appointment to the United States Naval Academy. He was also an assistant instructor (GA) for the Dale Carnegie Institute. He retired a few years ago from the volunteer fire and ambulance service in Hobson, but continues to serve as the small town's Mayor. He also currently serves on the Wells Fargo Bank Board in Lewistown, MT; the Montana Municipal Insurance Authority Board, and the Central Montana Regional Water Authority Board. He is known as someone to call in a crisis and often receives calls for help and advice from clients and friends. When those who know him describe Dale Longfellow, they use words like integrity, diligence, knowledgeable, resourceful, consistent, persistent, outgoing, energetic, positive, compassionate, and focused.
Dale is a dynamic businessman and citizen. His passion and dedication make him an exceptional role model and leader in the insurance field and in the community. He is fond of saying "Your insurance is only as good as your agent", and they don't get any better than Dale. He will be missed in the industry and in the office, but don't look for him to disappear entirely!
